Does it get any better than this?

A question that keeps us up at night, leaves our hearts racing and our minds wandering.

Does it get any better than this?

Can I do more, accomplish more, be more...than what I am now?

Or is this it?

Are you ready for the answer to the question?

Does it get any better than this?

Before you freak out...hear me out on this one.

You work hard your entire life, pushing yourself from one goal to the next...constantly climbing until you reach a milestone. Once you arrive at that milestone you are ecstatic! For awhile you are content and overjoyed to simply exist in this era of your life.

You are grateful, motivated, happy and excited for everything that has yet to come.

Sound familiar?

Of course it does.

Now let’s fast forward to that first emotional dip, slip or misplaced train track on your journey. You are thrown off course and your engine slows to a snail pace…

HELLLLO .... welcome to the climb.

Here you are, back again striving towards that next milestone...whatever that may be.

It doesn’t get any better than that.

I’m sorry….it doesn’t.

This is life, it is not a fairy tale or a smooth unicorn ride to the top.

We spend our entire lives seeking for the greener grass on the other side. This is visible in our society every single day. We want the latest upgrade, the hottest trends and whatever will captivate our hearts and minds in the moment.

Life is easier that way.

It is easier to replace something then put the effort in to fix it.

It is simple to follow the yellow brick road, rather than chainsaw your way through the forbidden forest.

Trust me….I get it.

So….yeah….it doesn’t get any better than this. This is how our world operates, it is how we are evolving as a species.

But are you ready for the mic drop?

You know what does get better?

I am willing to bet everything I own (which isn’t much...sorry) that you do not really know who you are.

And that is the most exciting and thrilling bet of all.

Maybe it doesn’t get any better than this. But i’m sure as hell am going to spend the rest of my life discovering new and creative sides of who I am to make my time here worth it.

You see sometimes it isn’t about searching for your next milestone, usually it isn’t even that far from the first. Sometimes it isn’t about the distance travelled on your path that matters...but rather the magnitude of what you have discovered within.

I challenge you to begin to look inside of yourself and discover everything there is to know about who you are.

NOTE: This will take a lifetime, I mean every single day of your life until your last breath….so if you message me next week with a power point presentation titled “This is me” may be missing the memo...

If you are sitting there with your finger in the air, screaming  “I know who I am”,  I ask you this.

Have you endured every single experience this world has to offer?

If you have….quit your day job and write a book about it….you’ll make millions.

Have you faced the toughest of tragedies and the highest of high?

If so, who were you in those moments?

Is there a list in an old notebook in your storage closet that contains exciting adventures you once wanted to go on?

If so…..take them and if you haven’t created a list then you should start….like yesterday.

Let me let you in on a huge lesson I have recently come to terms with.

You may never truthfully know who you are.

You will identify your values, your passions and your desires….but even those may change throughout your life.

Don’t choose to be something because you feel like it’s the next step towards that cherished milestone.

Dig deep, and ask yourself what you want most in life.

What would you go for if there was no expectation or gold medal waiting on the other side?

Spend time discovering YOU and watch yourself evolve into the exact person you are meant to be.

You do not need to change who you are to live a better life….you simply have to discover and reveal more of who you already are.

Go find yourself.

Honestly….it doesn’t get any better than that.
