Mirror, Mirror on the Wall

You are all worth it.

You are all worth it.

The old superstition goes, break a mirror and you’ll have 7 years bad luck. Whether you choose to believe it or not, breaking a mirror is not on the top of my to do list…

It’s messy.

And I NEVVVVVER no matter how hard I try mange to clean up every single piece, leaving the next week of my life dedicated to removing sharp, minuscule shards of glass from my feet.. let alone wondering about my fate for the next 7 years.

I find this concept rather ironic.

What is the purpose of a mirror?

Primarily we use them to view our reflection, to observe our physical self.  We are so cautious to not break that mirror on the wall, but yet we break ourselves over and over again, every single day….never considering the damage, mess or tiny hurtful shards it leaves behind.

When you look in the mirror what do you see?

In your moment of desperation, are your words kind or cruel?

Can you look yourself in the eye with pride, grace and love?

-Insert GIANT eye roll here-

Do it!

Before those eyes roll back into your sockets let me shed some light on the damage, sadness and limitations that you are placing on your daily life from simply attacking yourself with ridicule and disgust.

How do I know?

Because I often fall victim to this daily vicious cycle.

I battle with my worth, confidence and ability.  It has been the source of many terrible downward spirals in my life. I usually find that when I fall flat on my face is when I embrace in a little self discovery and realization.

This is what I am here to tell you today.

#1. You are always worth it.

No one can take away your worth.

No one defines your worth.

No one destroys your worth.

You are always worth the effort. You are always worth the fight. No matter where you may believe you are right now in this very moment, please know that I believe whole heartily that you are worth it. If everyday is a fight and struggle, please know that I admire, respect and support your effort to never, ever give up on yourself.

You are always worth it.

#2. Never Stop Redefining Yourself.

One experience, one moment, one choice does not define who you are.

You do.

There is nothing you are not capable of. You are not one kind of person destined for a certain life. You are powerful, capable and able to take control of your life whenever you choose.  It is never too late, there is never a right time. Redefine who you are and you will forever be free of limitations. Oh and remember #1….you are worth it!

#3. Your Reflection is timed, but who you are is timeless.

Who do you want to be when it is all over?

What do you want your memories to be full of?

How many lives will be impacted because you simply lived?

Never underestimate your power.

Your kind words can lift up an entire community just as quickly as your cruel ones can forever leave a deep mark.

Be the best version of yourself.

Learn, grow and be kind. Discover the power of honesty, and genuine companionship and realize that we are all in this together.

Remember that a beautiful surface can have a rotten core just as easily as a plain one can reveal magnificence. A life lived on the surface can be lonely, unsatisfying and dark.

Stare into your mirror on the wall and dive into who you are.

See THAT person everyday.

Embrace it.

Celebrate it.

Love it.

Stay Inspired,
